Safety and limits

Ride your own ride.

What the app asks you to agree to, once, before you ride and before coaching

Palomares shows these once in the app: Before you ride when you first open it, and Before coaching the first time coaching appears. You can read them again in Garage ▸ Safety and limits.

Before you ride

Palomares is for learning from your rides and enjoying them again. You ride, and use the app, at your own risk.

Eyes on the road. Set it up before you roll. Once you’re moving, don’t look at the phone or touch it.

The numbers can be off. Lean, speed, slowing and your track on the map are the phone’s best guess from its sensors and GPS. A loose mount, a pocket, trees and tunnels make them worse.

Ride your own ride. Stay within your skill, your bike and the law, speed limits included. The app can’t see traffic, the road surface or the weather.

Roads change. Road notes and maps can be out of date. Check for closures, gravel and conditions yourself.

For education and entertainment only. Palomares isn’t a safety device, a navigation aid or riding instruction. By tapping I agree, you accept this and that you ride at your own risk.

Before coaching

Coaching spots patterns in your riding and gives you one thing to try next time. You use it at your own risk.

It’s not an instructor. Nothing here replaces training with a qualified instructor.

It only knows what the phone felt. It reads how you leaned and slowed. It can’t see the road, traffic, your line or why you slowed where you did, so it can get a corner wrong.

Practice with margin. Try a cue only where it’s safe and legal, well within your limits. It’s about control: never use one to chase speed or lean.

Skip what doesn’t fit. If a cue doesn’t suit the road or doesn’t feel right, let it go.

For education and entertainment only. By tapping I understand, you accept this.
